Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information ScoopStays collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it. It applies to the ScoopStays website and any bookings made through us.

This page is maintained by ScoopStays to answer common questions about how we use your data. It is not a certification. For requests or complaints, contact scoopstays@gmail.com.

1. What we collect

  • Booking details: your name, phone number, WhatsApp number, email, check-in/out dates, number of guests, and messages you send us.
  • Guest account data: if you create an account, your profile fields (name, contact, avatar, and address/CNIC if you choose to add them) and your booking, favorites, review, and inquiry history.
  • Usage data: pages viewed, search queries, referring source, device type, and approximate location — used to improve the site.

2. How we use your information

  • To confirm, service, and communicate about your bookings.
  • To provide support before, during, and after your stay.
  • To improve the site, our listings, and pricing.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and harm.
  • To send occasional updates about ScoopStays, only if you have opted in.

3. Who we share it with

We use a small set of trusted third-party services to run the business:

  • Property owners & co-hosts: when you book a property, the on-ground host receives the information needed to prepare and support your stay.
  • WhatsApp Business (Meta): if you contact us or book via WhatsApp, your message and phone number are processed by Meta under their own terms.
  • Google Analytics & Google Maps: to understand site traffic and show property locations. Google receives anonymized usage data.
  • Transactional email provider: to send booking confirmations, receipts, and account-related notifications.
  • Legal authorities: only when required by law or to protect the safety of guests, hosts, or the public.

We do not sell your personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

4. Cookies & analytics

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and measure site performance via Google Analytics. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser at any time; the site will still work but some features may be reduced.

5. Data retention

We keep booking records for as long as needed to service the stay, comply with tax and accounting requirements, and resolve disputes. Guest account data is retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time (see below).

6. Your rights

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Delete your account and associated personal data.
  • Object to marketing communications by unsubscribing at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, email scoopstays@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information — including access controls, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and role-based database security. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

8. Children

ScoopStays is not directed at children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on the site. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
